“When it came to weaning I felt a little overwhelmed and worried as I wanted the best for Eva, but wasn't sure how to go about it. It's easy enough to go and buy a book and use the recipes, but I felt it was important to take things slowly and make sure that I wasn't rushing into too many tastes at once.
The way Hannah sets about managing the first month of weaning is very straightforward for Mummy and nice and slow for baby. Also, I felt reassured that I was steaming/boiling/poaching/pureeing everything correctly as we were working together to produce the first 4 weeks of food.
Using Hannah's daily menu was great, because everything is planned for you and you feel reassured that you're not over/under feeding your baby and you're not giving them food that they shouldn't be having. Also because of Hannah's nutritional training I felt comfortable asking her questions about foods I should avoid giving Eva as my partner does have some food allergies. It's possible to consult books for answers to weaning questions, but I really don't find I have the time to read much and they really are no substitute for having a trained nutritionalist in your home for a few hours!
